Contracts Engineer

Due to continued growth we have a permanent Staff opportunity for a Contracts Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen. The post involves providing support to our Dubai Office therefore will require the post holder to travel regularly to Dubai to support the Middle East operations.

The main duties associated with the role, include but are not limited to:

  1. Provide support and guidance to project managers and operations team members on contractual and commercial issues where requested

  2. Highlighting any major commercial or contractual risks, opportunities or issues to the commercial manager and project manager and work with them to ensure optimum solution

  3. Provide a contractual and commercial summary to the project manager of the assigned project

  4. Assist project manager with updating the risk and opportunity register

  5. Attend weekly project team meetings (internal and external)

  6. Liaise with project manager and project controller to complete monthly project report

  7. Compile sales invoices with the main contract and in conjunction with the project controller

  8. Responsible for keeping the vessel summary document updated

  9. Responsible for managing contractual change with the assistance of the project team where required, negotiation and execution of all variation orders/amendments with client and maintaining the project variation register

Requirements for the position

  • Degree qualified in relevant subject (preferably QS, Business, Law or technical) or equivalent experience 

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector

  • Excellent Communication and relationship skills 

  • Solves work-related problems effectively with minimal support.
