PR & Communications Specialist

As a PR & Communications Specialist, you are responsible for developing and maintaining the public images of their clients or organizations. This may involve issuing press releases, promoting press releases, maintaining a social media presence, arranging public appearances and other Marketing activities. Part of the job will also be developing a strong Employer Branding.
 

The main duties as a PR & Communications Specialist include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with fact and statistic finding for press needs
  • Create new market launch plan documents
  • Create informational decks for strategic partnership and public relations opportunities
  • Work with the development department in aligning public relations and donor relations strategies and communications
  • Identify and develop relationships with media personnel, community partners and agencies to promote our services and events
  • Coordinate media requests and follow up, while serving as the secondary media contact as needed
  • Write and publish website, blog and email newsletter content
  • Maintain our organization’s social media accounts, including content creation and curation
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of communications activities
  • Assist with other external and internal communications duties as needed
  • Organize events

 

Requirements for the position:

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and passion for offshore industry and inshore environment
  • 3 - 5 years of communications experience
  • Experience with Employer Branding
  • A positive and inspiring team player with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent communications and writing skills
  • Able to work under pressure effectively & efficiently
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multi-task
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Flexible and good with ambiguity
  • Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related area
  • You have the ability to collaborate with several teams at once, and you have no problem managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Computers do what you say. You are confident with the office suite, website content management, E-mail marketing and social media networks
