COST ESTIMATOR

We have a vacancy (full time) for a Cost Estimator for our organisation based in Dordrecht (NL).

Your main duties in this position
• Take part in the tender process of N-Sea and work in line with our ambition and values;
• Play a key role in the preparation and submission of tender proposals to our clients;
• Based on the Scope of Work and Work Breakdown Structure defined, set-up and develop detailed cost estimates and breakdowns with the purpose of cost reviews.
• Coordinate request for quotations by suppliers and subcontractors. Subsequently you analyse the proposals and select the proposal with the best value for the project and meets the project requirements.
• Liaise & organise meetings with subcontractors, partners and supporting departments;
• Co-ordinate required input with all required departments into the cost estimates.
• Responsible for the cost price calculations and pricing schedule of the client;
• In close collaboration with Tender management define risks and risk-budget.
• Deliver detailed cashflow analysis for Board reviews.
• Produce any other financial cost reports as deemed required for cost and sales reviews.
• Report areas of concern with the tender teams and advise mitigation measures if and where required.
• Upon Contract Award, interface with Project Controllers and Project Managers to set up cost control reports based on the cost estimates.
• Support in further developing the central cost database as well as way of cost estimating.

Requirements
• You hold a Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or Technical Business Administration.
• You share the ambition and values of N-Sea
• Analytical, curious and logical way of thinking are a must.
• You have a proactive attitude and can work under pressure
• Flexible attitude to work individually and in various setup in project teams
• Your communication in English (speaking, writing and reading) is powerful, at all organisational levels
• You are pragmatic and work in a proactive manner with a hands-on mindset and problem-solving approach;
• Demonstrable knowledge and practical application of Microsoft Office software and especially Excel.
• Sees potential of new ideas and situations and takes practical approach to change – looking at impact it may have on self and others; demonstrating the ability to explain such to colleagues.
• Capacity to take longer term commercial view – understands some of the strategic implications of decisions
• Systematically works to set goals; striving to achieve consistent results and proactively identify and pursue new stretching targets and opportunities
• Communicates positively with clarity and understanding; confident, articulate presentations with structure and control
• Cohesive and encouraging approach to team working; developing inter-team collaboration inside and outside the organisation.
• Adjusts behaviour & processes to meet customer and supplier expectations and looks to develop long-term relationships
• Ability to take control of most everyday situations and to assume responsibility, organising and guiding where necessary
• Presents view point with confidence and clarity, demonstrating soundly structured case – pros and cons put forward with supporting evidence.
