As a Senior Survey Engineer at N-Sea, you play a key role in ensuring the operational readiness, integrity, and performance of all survey equipment and related software used across our vessels and projects. You are responsible for the technical and operational management of owned, hired, and third-party survey systems, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality and reliable services to internal stakeholders and offshore operations.

Working within the Asset Department, you act as the primary interface for survey equipment setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance. You will ensure that maintenance, repair, and operational support activities are conducted to industry standards, on time, and with a clear focus on safety, quality, and continuity of operations.

Key responsibilities:
Your scope includes, but is not limited to:

Technical responsibilities
• Provide interfacing, configuration, and calibration of all survey equipment and related software across N-Sea assets.
• Ensure daily planning, execution, and progress monitoring of maintenance and repair (M&R) activities on all survey systems and auxiliary equipment, both onshore and offshore.
• Prevent operational downtime by ensuring system readiness, proactive maintenance, and fast fault resolution.
• Perform or support maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on geophysical sensors, winches, deployment systems, and associated hardware.
• Maintain up-to-date certification, calibration records, and tracking of all workshop tools, instruments, and survey test equipment.
• Provide documentation and logs of equipment configuration, technical work carried out, equipment performance, and any data-quality issues or failures.

Operational support
• Participate in vessel outfitting, mobilisation, and demobilisation activities when required.
• Support offshore and onshore teams to ensure survey systems are operated in accordance with company standards and project requirements.
• Monitor the quality and timely delivery of services provided by the Asset Department.
• Identify and report system or procedural non-conformities, deficiencies, or operational risks to the Technical Survey Manager.
• Ensure stakeholders are kept informed of progress, risks, and status of ongoing operations and technical work.

Quality, health & safety
• Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities comply with relevant legislation, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards.
• Actively support and adhere to company and vessel HSE policies, with emphasis on safe deployment and recovery of equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and operational standards.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you bring:

Education & experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, preferably electronics, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience working with survey equipment and related software in a maritime survey environment.
• 5 years of experience in the offshore subsea industry preferred.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of survey systems and associated auxiliary equipment & software (AE&S) is an advantage.
