Structural Engineer

N-Sea is seeking a talented Offshore Structural Engineer to strengthen our engineering team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and assessment of structural systems for offshore and subsea installations. You will work closely with project teams to develop safe, efficient, and innovative solutions that meet industry standards and client requirements. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the structural integrity and reliability of our offshore assets throughout their life cycle.

Key responsibilities:
• Performing structural verification of vessel constructions and equipment interfaces using hand calculations and FEM modelling.
• Conduct welding verifications and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Developing and reviewing reports to document and substantiate structural analyses.
• Ensuring compliance with international, local, and project-specific standards in design and analysis.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and Class Societies.
• Providing technical expertise within the project teams and supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Enquiring for- and reviewing and verifying of-, outsourced structural deliverables and conducting (internal) peer reviews. Actively visiting vessels and equipment for mobilisations to assess and verify structural integrity.
• Any other task within your capabilities as reasonably requested by the company.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Naval Architecture.
• Proven experience in structural engineering within a Marine Environment.
• Strong understanding of ship construction principles and associated industry practices
• Affinity for the offshore industry and interest in associated subsea works.
• Analytical mindset with a pro-active, solution-oriented, and innovative approach.
• Flexible and responsible with strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, and Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in using and interpreting various FEA software packages.
• Knowledge of rules, regulations and guidelines from classification societies.
• Willingness to conduct on-board visits for familiarisation and mobilisations.
